JARTA Membership
JARTA is a community of visionary travel companies dedicated to transforming tourism into a respectful, sustainable practice. Our goal is to maximize economic benefits for host destinations, gain the support of local residents, and develop travel products that celebrate unique regional characteristics.
Membership Requirements (Applicable to All Members)
Sustainability Commitment: Applicants must either maintain a sustainable management system aligned with the scale of their business or declare their commitment to the following principles:

- Sustainable Management: We strive to build sustainable organizational structures to preserve the beauty of Japan for future generations.
- Social & Economic Impact: We work to increase the social and economic benefits for local communities while minimizing negative impacts.
- Cultural Heritage: We promote the charms of Japan’s cultural heritage while contributing to its protection.
- Environmental Conservation: We contribute to environmental preservation and strive to minimize our environmental footprint.
- Stakeholder Engagement: We aim for management that ensures guest satisfaction and strive to expand the JARTA network among peers and stakeholders.
〇Appoint a Sustainability Coordinator at each business office.
〇Actively participate in JARTA events and projects, contributing to information sharing and activities within the travel industry to achieve our organizational goals.
Full Members (JARTA Member)
〇Individuals or corporations registered and operating under the Travel Agency Act who support JARTA’s objectives.
〇Must obtain approval from the Board of Directors.
〇The Sustainability Coordinator must complete JARTA’s Basic Training (or equivalent) either prior to joining or within two years of enrollment.
Supporting Members (JARTA Partner)
〇Individuals or corporations that fall under any of the following:
①Registered travel agencies operating under the Travel Agency Act who support JARTA’s objectives.
②Tour operators or individuals/corporations promoting tourism who support JARTA’s objectives.
③Overseas-registered travel or tourism-related corporations operating in Japan as a destination who support JARTA’s objectives.
Fees
Full Member (JARTA Member)
Admission Fee 100,000 JPY, Annal Fee 50,000 JPY*
*For Full Members with multiple registered offices, an additional 30,000 JPY per branch office will be added to the annual fee.
Supporting Member (JARTA Partner)
No Admission Fee, Annual Fee 50,000 JPY
*Memberships are handled at the corporate level (individual branch enrollment is not available).
*Fees for mid-year enrollment will be calculated on a monthly pro-rata basis.
