Progress Report & Forum for Sustainable Tourism Destination Development in Kumamoto
Six years have passed since the "2020 Leaders Meeting for Sustainable Tourism in Kumamoto." With the global deadline for the SDGs approaching in 2030, tourism in Kumamoto—having overcome major challenges such as earthquakes and the COVID-19 pandemic—is entering a new phase alongside a booming inbound market. Let’s learn from advanced case studies like Aso City and Oguni Town, which have been selected for the "Green Destinations Top 100 Sustainable Stories," and together map out a roadmap and concrete actions for the region to move forward independently "for the sake of the local community."
