Good Practices<\/span><br \/>\nBy thoroughly analyzing guest demographics and behavior, the hotel has achieved an \u201coffensive approach\u201d to resource reduction\u2014cutting consumption while maintaining guest satisfaction\u2014and a circular food\u2011loss reduction model that eliminates waste at its source.<\/p>\n<p>\u30fbEnergy and Water Savings Leveraging Inbound Guest Characteristics:  \nBased on the usage habits of international travelers, the hotel implemented measures such as setting bidet toilet seats to a default \u201coff\u201d mode and optimizing guest\u2011room air conditioning according to seasonal climate. Shower flow rates were also fine\u2011tuned to meet the hotel\u2019s own satisfaction benchmark of 7 liters per minute. Surplus edible food from the buffet is provided to the staff cafeteria, and remaining quantities are logged and monitored. Through this cycle, food waste has been reduced to roughly one\u2011tenth of previous levels. Challenges<\/span><br \/>\nA key challenge is ensuring that sustainability initiatives do not become dependent on specific individuals, but instead take root as part of the hotel\u2019s culture. Although a cross\u2011departmental committee system has been established\u2014with representatives from each division\u2014embedding awareness among all staff and building a sustainable long\u2011term framework remains a work in progress.<\/p>\n<p>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">4. Message<\/span><br \/>\n\u201cHotels often feel constrained by the facilities they were built with, but there is far more that can be achieved through operational creativity. Especially in properties with a high inbound ratio, bold and unconventional initiatives can be implemented with guest understanding.
